FOOTBALL: Evanston suffers tough loss to Crete-Monee

THE SKINNY

A 36-yard touchdown strike from Chris Little to Sam Bordo put Evanston up 7-0, but the Crete-Monee defense responded by going into lockdown mode, shutting out the Wildkits for the next 34 minutes. The Warriors scored 34 unanswered during that span, spurred by an 83-yard kickoff return to open the half from Elijah Douglas.

TURNING POINT

Crete-Monee (2-0) secured consecutive fumble recoveries from Jonathan Draper in the first half, the second of which he took for a 34-yard touchdown to give the Warriors a 19-7 lead.
