Dylan Peters had a good weekend on the board Friday and Saturday, posting consecutive six-dive scores of more than 200 points.
The senior was first Saturday against Naperville North with 203.35 points. A day before he totaled 220.45 points to take second to New Trier’s Jordan Sacks, one of the top divers in the state.
Peters’ teammate Philip Strunk was second Saturday with 182.40 points and third Friday with 213.50.
Evanston lost to New Trier 137-48 as the Trevians celebrated their 100th anniversary of the program. The defeat was the Wildkits’ first in the CSL South, dropping them to 2-1. New Trier improved to 3-0 in league dual meets.
Freshman Ryan Knohl stood out by taking second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:57.31). John McBratney followed close behind in third with a time of 4:57.42.
Maciej Olszewski also had a good meet against defending state champion New Trier, the presumptive favorites next month. The freshman finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.04).
Despite winning only one event Saturday, the Wildkits showcased their depth in the 100-86 loss to the Huskies.
Knohl was the lone swimming winner, taking first in the 100 butterfly (55.06).
But the Wildkits went 2-3-4 in the 200 IM, 100 free and 100 backstroke. They also went 2-3 in the 200 medley and 500 free.
Evanston swims against Waukegan on Friday before competing against Lake Forest and Hinsdale Central on Saturday.
