Board Working Meeting will be held Nov. 5. Public session begins at 7 p.m. in the Board Room of the JEH Education Center, 1500 McDaniel Avenue, Evanston. Walker School
Walker School PTA will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at the school. All Walker School families are invited to attend. Each meeting features a special topic and planning for upcoming PTA events. For information contact the school at (847) 859-8330.
Chute School
Chute PTA meeting will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Nov. 7. The topics of conversations including Top 10 FAQs about Chute, intramural sports, competitive team sports, National Geography Bee, after school clubs and more. For information, call the school at (847) 859-8600.
King Lab School
King Lab PTA Meeting will be held at 8:15 a.m. Nov. 7 at the school. For information, call the school at (847) 859-8500. ~.
Half-day attendance
Students will have a half-day of attendance Nov. 7. Teachers and staff remain for scheduled professional development and training opportunities. Magnet school students are dismissed at 11 a.m. Middle school students are dismissed at 11:30 a.m.; Elementary and Park School students are dismissed at 12:05 p.m. With prior arrangements, those who are enrolled in the District 65 before and after care are eligible for after-school care on school improvement days. Early Childhood Education Center students do not attend the a.m. sessions.
Hispanic youth awards
For the past 11 years, School Districts 202 and 65 have participated in the annual awards. The goal of this awards program is to honor and celebrate Hispanic/Latino student achievers in four categories: academics, sportsmanship, citizenship and leadership. The awards will take place Nov. 8 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Evanston Township High School’s Main Auditorium 1600 Dodge Ave. Evanston.~.
