EVANSTON — Two men were arrested for stealing the wheels from a car parked in Evanston early Tuesday, police said.

Police responded about 2:45 a.m. to a report of tires being removed from a Honda parked in the 800 block of Hinman Avenue, Evanston police said in a statement.

The victim identified a man who police saw walking in area, police said. Police also stopped a vehicle driving away from the area and found the stolen tires and the tools used in the theft.

Ricardo Gaytan, 21, of the 1800 block of West Huron Street, and Angel Castrejon, 21, of the 1900 block of West Superior Street, were charged with one felony count of theft each, police said.

Both will appear in court Nov. 7 in Skokie.
