Evanston Police Blotter for the week of Oct. 18, 2012

The following incidents were listed in the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest by police does not constitute a finding of guilt; only a court of law can make that determination.

ARMED ROBBERY

An offender demanded a victim’s cell phone and wallet in an incident that occurred on the 600 block of Chicago Avenue on Oct. 8.

BURGLARY

Some cash and a black cell phone charger were taken from an unlocked 2003 Ford parked in a lot on the 500 block of Sheridan Road between Oct. 5 and Oct. 9.

Some miscellaneous wrenches, sockets and tools were taken from a 1994 Chevrolet parked on the 2500 block of Oakton between Oct. 8 and Oct. 10.

A 10-speed girl’s L.J. Bean mountain bike and a Univega men’s mountain bicycle were taken from an unlocked garage on the 1600 block of Greenwood between Oct. 7 and Oct. 10.

Two bikes locked to a storage rack were taken from the 600 block of Main St., around 5 p.m., on Oct. 11.

Some Marlboro Lights cigarettes and cigars were taken from a pharmacy on the 600 block of Chicago Ave., on Oct. 11 after someone broke a window to enter.

THEFT

A cell phone, cash box, miscellaneous items from a cash register and the cash register key were taken from behind the front counter of a business on the 900 block of Chicago Avenue Oct. 8.

Some copper downspout gutters were removed from a building on the 1100 block of Washington Street between Oct. 5 and Oct. 9.

A white Macintosh computer was taken from a desk at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge, on Oct. 9 or Oct. 10 .

A men’s mountain bike was taken from the common storage area of a building on the 1200 block of Elmwood between Oct. 6 and Oct. 10.

Some alcohol was removed from a grocery store on the 2400 block of Howard Street on Oct. 10.

Kostadin B. Minchev, 23, of 7965 Karlov, Skokie, was arrested at 2485 Howard St. on Oct. 10 at 4:56 p.m, and charged with retail theft. He is due in court Dec. 5.

DUI

Matthew Denesha Ryan, 26, of 956 Deerfield Rd., Deerfield, was arrested at 2748 Greenbay Road on Oct. 8 at 3:24 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence. He is due in court Nov. 6.

Kevon Ronere Cox, 18, of 825 Dodge, was arrested at 2033 Darrow on Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. and charged with illegal possession of alcohol. He is due in court Nov. 28.

DRUGS

Tyrone Elijah Gibbs, 20, of 2116 Emerson, was arrested at 1929 Foster St. on Oct. 8 and charged with possession of marijuana. He is due in court Nov. 6.

DISORDERLY

Troy JSB Wilson, 20, of 4604 N. Beacon, Chicago, was arrested at 301 Chicago Ave. on Oct. 5 and charged with urinating in public. He is due in court Nov. 21.

Sydney Nicole Jacobs, 18, of 3208 Temple Ln., Wilmette, and Maria Christina Pesce, 18, of 4 Bobbie Ct., Manapalan, were arrested Oct. 12 at 3:10 a.m. at 1000 Grove and charged with disobedience to police. They are due in court Nov. 21.
