Evanston police blotter for Aug. 8, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.

BURGLARY

An iMac computer and money were stolen from an unlocked 2003 Subaru between 4:31 a.m. Tuesday and 4:36 a.m. Wednesday while it was parked in an alley on the 800 block of Chicago Avenue.

THEFT

An unlocked Sillgey men’s bicycle was stolen around 7:31 p.m. July 17 from the 1100 block of Lake Shore Boulevard.

An unlocked blue Magna men’s mountain bike was stolen between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from an office building on the 800 block of Davis Street.

An unlocked men’s mountain bicycle was stolen around 4 p.m. Tuesday off a sidewalk on the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue.

Some John Wayne DVD movies were removed around 4 p.m. Tuesday from the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave.

RETAIL THEFT

Veronica Laguna-Orihuela, 39, of 1421 Howard St., Evanston, was arrested at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday at the Dominick’s supermarket, 1910 Dempster St., and charged with retail theft of some food. She is due in court Aug. 21.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Someone damaged a 2004 Nissan by denting and scratching the left side of the trunk in an alley between 1 p.m. Monday and 5:18 p.m. Tuesday on the 1400 block of Grey Avenue.
