Donald Brown, Jr. received the Medal of Excellence from Loyola University School of Law at their alumni luncheon recently.

This award is given annually by the Loyola University School of Law Alumni Association to an alumnus or faculty member for distinguished service to the legal profession and for loyalty and service to the School of Law.

Award winners have demonstrated privately and professionally the quality of character, intellect and social or professional responsibility that the School of Law nurtures, according to the school.

Brown is a partner at the Chicago law firm Donohue Brown Mathewson & Smyth. He specializes in the defense of professional negligence and general liability cases. Brown is an experienced trial attorney in both federal and state courts and has tried a significant number of cases to verdict in over 35 years of litigation practice. He and his wife are longtime residents of Evanston.
