Northwestern’s Fitzgerald to speak in Winnetka

Northwestern University Football Coach Pat Fitzgerald will offer his perspective on “Building a Winning Team On and Off the Field” during a speaking engagement on Monday, Feb. 27 in Winnetka.
Fitzgerald will speak at 1 Indian Hill Road in Winnetka. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $85 for adults, $25 for junior high students on up to 20-year-olds and includes dinner and beverages. To register online

“Pat is an entertaining, inspiring speaker whose insights and experiences in team building provide life lessons for all of us,” said Mark Madigan Sacred Heart Viking Men’s Club. “We are honored to have him join us for what will be a great evening.” The Sacred Heart Viking Men’s Club is sponsoring the event.
Fitzgerald took the reins as NU head football coach in 2006. At the time of the appointment, he was the youngest coach in the Big Ten Conference and in NCAA Division I-A football. Fitzgerald has guided the Wildcats to four consecutive postseason
berths and five straight years of bowl-eligibility, both school bests.
In his playing career during the mid-90’s, Fitzgerald starred at linebacker for the Wildcats, helping to lead the team to a 10–1 regular season record in 1995 and a berth in the 1996 Rose Bowl. He was twice named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and
is the 15th Northwestern player or coach to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Proceeds from the event go to the Viking Men’s Club supporting the greater school, parish and religious education communities of Sacred Heart Parish – Winnetka.
