The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.
THEFT
A Makita cordless drill and battery were stolen off a resident’s porch around 11:32 a.m. Wednesday on the 1500 block of Emerson Street.
RETAIL THEFT
Lavell Robinson, 34, of 12425 Meadow Lane, Blue Island, was arrested at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday on the 800 block of Davis Street and charged with retail theft of some clothing from a downtown store on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue. Robinson is due in court Feb. 16.
FORGERY
Peter Baumgartner, 47, of 802 Forest Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Evanston Police Department headquarters, 1454 Elmwood Ave., and charged with forgery. He is due in court Jan. 27.
DRUGS
Joseph M. Green, 17, of 7258 N. Seeley Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday on the 300 block of Howard Street and charged with the manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance. Green is due in court Jan. 20.
Sammie L. Kennedy, 61, of 1417 Grey Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 12:21 a.m. Thursday at 1615 Emerson St., and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Kennedy is due in court Jan. 27.
DUI
Reinaldo Mayet, 23, of 3612 W. Peterson Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1:03 a.m. Thursday at 1120 Asbury Ave. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Mayet is due in court Feb. 9.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Tully E. Smitherman, 45, whom police list as homeless, was arrested at 11:26 p.m. Wednesday at the Cook County Jail and charged with criminal damage to state-supported property. He is due in court Feb. 23.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
Bernardino Urioste, 45, of 339 Howard St., Evanston, was arrested at 3 a.m. Thursday at that address and charged with aggravated assault. He is due in court Jan. 26.
MOB ACTION
Dante L. Huff, 18, of 1043 Dodge Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 4 p.m. Thursday at 1900 Church St. and charged with mob action. Huff is due in court Jan. 26.
