Evanston police blotter for Jan. 9

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.
DUI
Diana Lisowska, 21, of 9830 Keystone Ave., Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 3:45 a.m. Sunday on the 300 block of Ridge Avenue. Lisowska is due in court Jan. 26.
BURGLARY
Someone broke a window on a side door to burglarize a residence sometime between 6:30 a.m. Jan. 2 and noon Saturday on the 1400 block of Florence Avenue. A large number of items were stolen, including a Bulova watch with the engraving “Josh and Babe,” assorted earrings and other jewelry, a Sony video camera and an Apple laptop computer.
Someone broke the window of a 2002 Nissan parked around 2 a.m. Monday at Washington Street and Grey Avenue, then stole an Apple Powerbook laptop computer, a Fuji camera, a Garmin GPS navigation unit and a messenger bag used to carry the computer.
A Boss DVD/CD touch screen car stereo was stolen sometime between 5:30 p.m. Jan. 5 and 8:45 a.m. Friday from an unlocked 2003 Honda parked in a residential driveway on the 1400 block of Wesley Avenue.
Some cash and a wallet, along with its contents, were stolen around 3:30 p.m. Jan. 5 from an unlocked 1996 Honda parked on the 1100 block of Darrow Avenue.
A Panasonic camera and a black and gray backpack, along with its contents, were stolen some time between 5:40 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Jan. 5 from a Honda parked curb side on the 800 block of Church Street.
A Toro snow blower and a small generator were stolen early Sunday from a garage that had been left open on the 2200 block of Emerson Street.
Two males stole a blue and black car stereo around 12:24 p.m. Jan. 5 from an unlocked 1995 GMC vehicle parked outside a residence in a yard on the 1800 block of Foster Street.
Someone broke a window and stole a Garmin GPS navigation device and its mounting bracket around 8:10 a.m. Jan. 5 from a 2008 Dodge parked on the 100 block of Callan Avenue.
A man tried unsuccessfully to pry open a door of a single-family home around 6 p.m. Jan. 5 on the 800 block of Grey Avenue.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone used a rock to break the window of a dry cleaning business last week on the 600 block of Chicago Avenue. The damage occurred some time between 7:01 p.m. Jan. 5 and 7 a.m. Friday.
Someone damaged a fence some time between 2 p.m. Jan. 5 and 9 a.m. Friday at the Lake Street Church, 607 Lake St.,
Someone punched a hole in the door of a garage some time between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Jan. 5 on the 1200 block of Darrow Avenue.
Someone used a brick to smash the driver’s side window and windshield of a 2012 Kia parked on the street sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Friday on the 200 block of Custer Avenue.
STRONG-ARM ROBBERY
Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery during which two men demanded the victim’s credit card around 3 p.m. Jan. 5 on the 700 block of Noyes Street.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
Eliona D. Prado-Menzies, 27, of 1735 Darrow Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 3:21 a.m. Saturday on the 100 block of Asbury Avenue and charged with aggravated assault. Prado-Menzies is due in court Feb. 19.
DOMESTIC BATTERY
Mona L. Bates, 51, of 736 Dobson St., Evanston, was arrested at 5:20 p.m. Friday on the 1700 block of Monroe Street and charged with domestic battery. Her court date was scheduled for Jan. 11.
THEFT
A black leather wallet, along with its contents, was stolen from a victim’s purse around 10 a.m. Jan. 5 at the Jewel-Osco store, 2485 Howard St.
A man stole a Taco Bell promotional sign from the restaurant around 7:21 p.m. Saturday on the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue.
Someone stole a silver metal back-yard gate some time between 9 a.m. Dec. 27 and 9 a.m. Dec. 28 at a single-family home on the 1900 block of Darrow Avenue.
