Evanston police blotter for July 15

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.

BURGLARY

A Dell notebook computer, a Toshiba notebook computer, a Nook digital reader and a black Coach purse, along with its contents, were taken sometime between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday from a single-family home on the 1800 block of Wesley Avenue. A window screen was slashed to carry out the burglary.

Someone who had a key to the apartment stole some cash sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday on the 1600 block of Emerson Street.

BATTERY

Robert William Long, 72, of 1701 W. Wallen Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 5:50 p.m. Thursday and charged with battery. He is due in court July 29.

THEFT

A table and four chairs were stolen from the yard of a single-family home sometime between 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday on the 1300 block of Brummel Street.

A locked blue Mongoose 21-speed mountain bike was stolen around 5:37 p.m. Thursday from a sidewalk on the 600 block of Main Street.

Some lug nuts were removed sometime between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10:42 a.m. Thursday from a 2011 Honda parked on the street on the 700 block of Custer Avenue.

An 18.5 inch silver Bianchi bicycle, which was locked to a bike rack, was stolen around 2 p.m. Thursday on the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue.

A lime green Diamondback bicycle was stolen sometime between 11:03 a.m. Sunday and 11:03 a.m. Monday from a yard of a single-family home on the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue.

ALCOHOL

Raymond D. Lord, 18, of 1818 Washington St., Evanston, and Colton D. Werner, 18, of 8619 E. Prairie Ave., Skokie, were arrested at 11:50 p.m. Thursday at 1300 Lake Shore Blvd., and charged with possession of alcohol by a minor. They are due in court Aug. 19.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A 13-year-old Evanston juvenile was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Thursday at 147 Callan Ave. and charged with disorderly conduct. No court information was included in the Evanston Police Department’s Daily Bulletin.
