Update: Evanston focusing on residential street cleanup

EVANSTON — Superintendent of Streets and Sanitation James Maiworm has issued an update to the city’s snow cleaning efforts.
The heaviest accumulating snow is now over for the area, he said. Last night’s snowfall measured 2.8” at Evanston’s Service Center.
Main roads and secondary’s are wet and slushy
The focus for today’s cleanup will be on residential streets plowing them curb to curb. Public Works will be deploying extra trucks to accelerate the residential street cleanup process.
No parking restrictions will be posted.
Overnight a crew will be in later to do some business district cleanup.
On Saturday, a limited crew will be in to respond to 311 concerns and to continue to push back residential parking areas.
