Evanston snow removal efforts continue

Evanston snow removal crews will have as their primary focus residential streets, cleaning up the rest of the snow fall that dropped roughly 2.3 inches of snow on the area.
As of Friday morning, main roads are wet. Most secondary’s are wet and slushy, officials report, and side streets have been plowed, said James Maiworm, the city’s superintendent of streets and sanitation in a dispatch from the field.
“Today we will be pushing back parking lanes and scraping down side streets to eliminate snowpack,” he said.
No parking restrictions are expected, he said.
Temperatures are expected to warm up over the weekend and into next week to be above freezing, with rain expected on Sunday, he said.
