Evanston man hit with drug charges

EVANSTON — Police arrested a 53-year-old Evanston man Wednesday after executing a search warrant at 1929 Hartrey Ave., where they recovered a small amount of heroin.
Vernon Davis was arrested at approximately 11:30 a.m., at his home, which police targeted for heroin.
Police recovered a small amount of the drug along with packaging materials for drug sales and drug paraphernalia, said Cmdr. Jason Parrott, the department’s media relations officer.
Davis was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Davis also had a probation violation warrant issued by Cook County at the time of his arrest, Parrott said.
He is scheduled to appear Dec. 13 in Second Municipal District Court.
