EVANSTON — A Chicago man already under suspicion for burglarizing homes in the city has also been charged with residential burglaries in Evanston.

Shawn Wawryk, 21, of the 5800 block of North Spaulding Avenue, was charged with two counts of residential burglary on Wednesday, according to Evanston police.

A statement from Evanston police said that while being arrested by Chicago police for residential burglary on Tuesday, Wawryk also implicated himself in two burglaries in Evanston.

Evanston detectives interviewed him on Wednesday and he allegedly admitted to burglaries in the 2400 block of Marcy Avenue on Nov. 5, and the 3200 block of Hartzell Street on Nov. 27, stealing electronics, jewelry and coins, the statement said.
