Updated: December 16, 2012 6:33AM
Representatives for the proposed McDonald’s restaurant at 2500 Gross Point Road in Evanston have withdrawn their application for special use permits, city officials reported this week.
The application had been set for a hearing Nov. 13 before the City of Evanston’s Zoning Board of Appeals. The restaurant would have been located at the corner of Gross Point Road and Harrison Street in northwestern Evanston.
Neighbors had raised concerns about traffic and congestion, opposing the application. McDonald’s was applying for permits for a Type 2 Restaurant and a drive-thru facility.~.
