Evanston police blotter for Feb. 7 through Feb. 13, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.
STRONG-ARM ROBBERY
A man known to the victim choked him and took an undisclosed sum of money around 8:38 p.m. Feb. 3 at Emerson Street and Ashland Avenue.
BURGLARY
Two Apple laptop computers, a Hewlett Packard laptop computer, a red laptop case and Olympic watches were stolen sometime between 8 a.m. and 4:10 p.m. Friday from a single-family home on the 900 block of Colfax Street. Someone carried out the burglary after entering through an unlocked window.
Someone broke a rear window of a single-family home sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 9:50 a.m. Saturday on the 800 block of Colfax Street. Nothing was reported stolen, however.
Someone broke a door on a single-family home under construction and stole copper pipe sometime between 8 p.m. Feb. 9 and 6 a.m. Friday on the 1700 block of Grey Avenue.
Some loose change was stolen from an unlocked 2000 Toyota parked by the curb sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday on the 3000 block of Hartzell Street.
Some cash and a cash register were stolen sometime between 7 p.m. Feb. 6 and 8:10 a.m. Feb. 7 from a dry cleaning business on the 1900 block of Howard St.
Someone entered a garage through an unlocked rear door and stole a Toro snow blower sometime between 5 p.m. Feb. 6 and 7:15 a.m. Feb. 7 on the 1700 block of Oakton Street, stealing a Toro snow blower.
A Jules Jurgensen white gold wrist watch, five hoop-style bracelets and a
Panasonic flat-screen television were stolen around 3 p.m. Feb. 7 from an apartment on the 300 block of Custer Avenue after someone broke the rear door to get inside.
Someone tried to break into a single-family home by prying open the front storm door and breaking the door handle sometime between 4 a.m. Jan. 27 and noon Jan. 29 on the 1800 block of Darrow Avenue.
THEFT
An Apple iPod and an Apple iPod Touch were removed from an unlocked gym locker around 9 p.m. Friday at the McGaw YMCA, 1000 Grove St.
Someone removed cash from a gym locker around 12:22 p.m. Saturday at the LA Fitness athletic club on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue. The victim found a different lock securing his locker when he returned to it about two hours later.
Some coins and cash were removed from a gym locker around 4:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in a building on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue.
A black Apple iPhone 4 was stolen around 1 p.m. Feb. 7 from an unlocked office at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave.
A 21-speed Trek woman’s mountain bike was stolen sometime between 10 p.m. Feb. 5 and 11:10 a.m. Feb. 6 from the parking lot of an apartment building on the 2100 block of Sherman Avenue.
BATTERY
Two victims were hit in the back of the head or in the face by a man in separate incidents about 90 minutes apart, around 8:12 p.m. and 9:38 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Davis Street commuter station, at 900 Davis St. Neftali Negron, 21, of 1017 63rd St., Kenosha, Wis., was arrested at 9:50 p.m. Feb. 4 at 919 Davis St. and charged with two counts of simple battery. He is due in court Feb. 23.
DUI
Kenneth R. Allen, 48, of 5034 Howard St., Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 11:59 p.m. Friday at Main Street and Chicago Avenue. He is due in court March 9.
Vincent N. Carani, 35, of 1076 Court Ave., Highland Park, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 7:51 a.m. Sunday at 607 Lake St. He is due in court March 28.
D’Andre T. Daye, 20, of 1511 Brummel St., Evanston, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 3:51 a.m. Sunday at Lake Street and Ridge Avenue. He is due in court March 16.
Juan C. Ramirez, 38, of 6435 S. Hoyne Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 1:30 p.m. Friday at 620 Custer Ave. He is due in court Feb. 24.
Julio C. Reveles, 38, of 5600 S. Natchez Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 4:20 a.m. Sunday at 2321 Ridge Ave. He is due in court March 14.
Aaron R. Airhart, 40, of 1803 Manchester Ave., Westchester, Ill., was arrested at 7 p.m. Feb. 3 at 500 Arnold Place and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court March 1.
RETAIL THEFT
A retail theft report about a woman who left empty hangers at a business was reported around 5:35 p.m. Feb. 8 on the 900 block of Church Street.
A woman stole some Zyflamend herbal arthritis supplement sometime between 4:15 p.m. Jan. 18 and 9:21 p.m. Feb. 5 from the Jewel-Osco store on the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue.
An Apple iPad was stolen from the display case of a business sometime between Jan. 31 and 4 p.m. Feb. 4 on the 1000 block of Davis Street.
DRUGS
Nathaniel Johns, 41, of 117 Callan Ave., Evanston, was arrested 3:16 a.m. Friday at 420 South Blvd. and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is due in court Feb. 24.
Justin W. Johnson, 21, of 6157 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago, was arrested at 4:26 p.m. Feb. 9 at 2434 Main St. and charged with possession of marijuana. He is due in court March 1.
James T. Steele, 42, of 5220 N. Kenmore Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 12:28 a.m. Saturday at 2020 Asbury Ave. and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is due in court Feb. 24.
Kimberly A. Bunner, 29, of 8140 Keating Ave., Skokie, was arrested at 12:46 a.m. Feb. 8 at 900 Dodge Ave. and charged with possession of a controlled substance. She is due in court March 12.
Eric P. Seaton, 23, of 1920 North Ave., Waukegan, was arrested at 9 p.m. Feb. 7 at Oakton Street and Dodge Avenue and charged with possession of marijuana. He is due in court March 28.
ALCOHOL
Ronald M. Johnson, 19, of 1221 W. Lunt Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2:29 a.m. Saturday at 817 Emerson St. and charged with underage possession of alcohol. He is due in court March 6.
Michael J. Cunningham, 19, of 1820 Chicago Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 7:50 p.m. Feb. 3 at Evanston First Liquors, 1019 Davis St. and charged will illegal possession of liquor by a minor. He is due in court March 14.
RESISTING ARREST
Some Swisher Sweet cigars were stolen around 7:54 a.m. Feb. 9 from the 7-11 store on the 800 block of Dodge Avenue.
Maurice Pointer, 55, of 1421 Grey Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Feb. 3 at 1030 Ridge Ave. and charged with resisting arrest. He is due court March 16.
ASSAULT
Carrie S. Fagbemi, 39, of 2026 Emerson St., Evanston, was arrested at 6:46 p.m. Feb. 8 at that address and charged with aggravated assault. She is due in court March 14.
Rasheed Murray, 20, of 8011 Lyons St., Niles, was arrested at 1:54 p.m. Feb. 6 at Evanston Police Department headquarters, 1454 Elmwood Ave., and charged with simple assault. He is due in court March 14.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY
Adrian M. Morrison, 32, of 810 Dobson St., Evanston, was arrested around 9:24 p.m. Feb. 6 at 7530 N. Ridge Ave. in Chicago and charged with aggravated battery. He was due in court Feb. 16.
OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE
Carey L. Smith, 23, of 1632 South Blvd., Evanston, was arrested at 2:28 a.m. Feb. 5 at 1213 Dewey Ave. and charged with obstructing justice. His court date was scheduled for Feb. 9.
DISTURBING THE PEACE
Darnell L. Gunn, 31, and Craig T. McGee, 28, both of 1934 Jackson Avenue, were arrested at 12:09 a.m. Feb. 8 at 120 Custer Ave. and charged with disturbing the peace. They are due in court March 23.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Gianni F. Estes, 25, of 710 Dobson St., was arrested at 4:54 p.m. Feb. 7 at that address and charged with disorderly conduct. He is due in court March 6.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Some graffiti was placed on Evanston Police Department headquarters sometime between 2:45 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. Sunday at 1454 Elmwood Ave.
Someone slashed both tires on the passenger side of a 1998 Nissan parked by the curb sometime between 9:30 p.m. Feb. 9 and 7:40 a.m. Friday on the 1500 block of Pitner Avenue.
Two small holes were discovered in window glass at a single-family home on the 800 block of Brown Avenue. The holes were put there sometime between 8 a.m. Feb. 2 and 2 p.m. Feb. 8.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
Some graffiti was scrawled on an apartment or condominium building sometime between 7 p.m. Feb. 9 and 6 a.m. Friday on the 2300 block of Central Street.
WARRANT ARREST
Jamie L. Kremel, 29, of 126 Custer Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 9:18 p.m. Feb. 8 at that address on an outstanding warrant. Kremel is due in court March 14.
Corey L. Weaver, 21, of 1905 W. 162nd St., Markham, was arrested on a warrant at 12:08 p.m. Feb. 1 at 1800 Asbury Ave. Weaver was due in court Feb. 9.
