Evanston police blotter for Feb. 13, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Some graffiti was placed on Evanston Police Department headquarters sometime between 2:45 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. Sunday at 1454 Elmwood Ave.

Someone slashed both tires on the passenger side of a 1998 Nissan parked by the curb sometime between 9:30 p.m. Feb. 9 and 7:40 a.m. Friday on the 1500 block of Pitner Avenue.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

Some graffiti was scrawled on an apartment or condominium building sometime between 7 p.m. Feb. 9 and 6 a.m. Friday on the 2300 block of Central Street.

THEFT

An Apple iPod and an Apple iPod Touch were removed from an unlocked gym locker around 9 p.m. Friday at the McGaw YMCA, 1000 Grove St.

Someone removed cash from a gym locker around 12:22 p.m. Saturday at the LA Fitness athletic club on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue. The victim found a different lock securing his locker when he returned to it about two hours later.

BURGLARY

Two Apple laptop computers, a Hewlett Packard laptop computer, a red laptop case and Olympic watches were stolen sometime between 8 a.m. and 4:10 p.m. Friday from a single-family home on the 900 block of Colfax Street. Someone carried out the burglary after entering through an unlocked window.

Someone broke a rear window of a single-family home sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 9:50 a.m. Saturday on the 800 block of Colfax Street. Nothing was reported stolen, however.

Someone broke a door on a single-family home under construction and stole copper pipe sometime between 8 p.m. Feb. 9 and 6 a.m. Friday on the 1700 block of Grey Avenue.

Some loose change was stolen from an unlocked 2000 Toyota parked by the curb sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday on the 3000 block of Hartzell Street.

DUI

Kenneth R. Allen, 48, of 5034 Howard St., Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 11:59 p.m. Friday at Main Street and Chicago Avenue. He is due in court March 9.

Vincent N. Carani, 35, of 1076 Court Ave., Highland Park, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 7:51 a.m. Sunday at 607 Lake St. He is due in court March 28.

D’Andre T. Daye, 20, of 1511 Brummel St., Evanston, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 3:51 a.m. Sunday at Lake Street and Ridge Avenue. He is due in court March 16.

Juan C. Ramirez, 38, of 6435 S. Hoyne Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 1:30 p.m. Friday at 620 Custer Ave. He is due in court Feb. 24.

Julio C. Reveles, 38, of 5600 S. Natchez Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence following a stop at 4:20 a.m. Sunday at 2321 Ridge Ave. He is due in court March 14.

ALCOHOL

Ronald M. Johnson, 19, of 1221 W. Lunt Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2:29 a.m. Saturday at 817 Emerson St. and charged with underage possession of alcohol. He is due in court March 6.

DRUGS

Nathaniel Johns, 41, of 117 Callan Ave., Evanston, was arrested 3:16 a.m. Friday at 420 South Blvd. and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is due in court Feb. 24.

Justin W. Johnson, 21, of 6157 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago, was arrested at 4:26 p.m. Feb. 9 at 2434 Main St. and charged with possession of marijuana. He is due in court March 1.

James T. Steele, 42, of 5220 N. Kenmore Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 12:28 a.m. Saturday at 2020 Asbury Ave. and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is due in court Feb. 24.
