Evanston police blotter for Feb. 7, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.

BATTERY

Two victims were hit in the back of the head or in the face by a man in separate incidents about 90 minutes apart, around 8:12 p.m. and 9:38 p.m. Saturday at the Davis Street commuter station, at 900 Davis St. Neftali Negron, 21, of 1017 63rd St., Kenosha, Wis., was arrested at 9:50 p.m. Saturday at 919 Davis St. and charged with two counts of simple battery. He is due in court Feb. 23.

DUI

Aaron R. Airhart, 40, of 1803 Manchester Ave., Westchester, Ill., was arrested at 7 p.m. Friday at 500 Arnold Place and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court March 1.

ALCOHOL

Michael J. Cunningham, 19, of 1820 Chicago Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 7:50 p.m. Friday at Evanston First Liquors, 1019 Davis St. and charged will illegal possession of liquor by a minor. He is due in court March 14.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY

A man known to the victim choked him and took an undisclosed sum of money around 8:38 p.m. Friday at Emerson Street and Ashland Avenue.

RESISTING ARREST

Maurice Pointer, 55, of 1421 Grey Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Friday at 1030 Ridge Ave. and charged with resisting arrest. He is due court March 16.

ASSAULT

Rasheed Murray, 20, of 8011 Lyons St., Niles, was arrested at 1:54 p.m. Monday at Evanston Police Department headquarters, 1454 Elmwood Ave., and charged with simple assault. He is due in court March 14.

OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE

Carey L. Smith, 23, of 1632 South Blvd., Evanston, was arrested at 2:28 a.m. Sunday at 1213 Dewey Ave. and charged with obstructing justice. He is due in court Thursday.

WARRANT ARREST

Corey L. Weaver, 21, of 1905 W. 162nd St., Markham, was arrested on a warrant at 12:08 p.m. Feb. 1 at 1800 Asbury Ave. Weaver is due in court Thursday.
