Evanston police blotter for Feb. 6, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.
STRONG-ARM ROBBERY
A man ran toward a victim and attempted to grab him in around 8:35 p.m. Wednesday on the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue.
BURGLARY
Some loose change was stolen from an unlocked 2010 Toyota sometime between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday as it was parked in an alley on the 200 block of Dodge Avenue.
BATTERY
A victim was struck in the face by a male offender on a bus around 3:20 p.m. Friday on the 500 block of Sheridan Road.
A woman known to the victim grabbed a victim in a car around 5:30 a.m. Sunday at Howard Street and Ridge Avenue.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
Some graffiti was found in an alley around 1:45 p.m. Friday on the 1000 block of Ashland Avenue.
Some graffiti was found around 1:46 p.m. Friday on the 1500 block of Lee Street.
THEFT
A Samsung cell phone was stolen around 1 p.m. Saturday from a cleaning cart at a grocery store on the 2400 block of Main Street.
A leather wallet, along with its contents, and a North Face rain jacket were stolen from a locked gym locker around noon Friday at the LA Fitness athletic club on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue.
RETAIL THEFT
A man stole alcohol from the Jewel-Osco store around 11:55 p.m. Friday on the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue.
DUI
Jami A. Gibson, 33, of 7624 N. Bosworth Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence at 3:25 a.m. Sunday following a traffic stop on the 300 block of Dodge Ave. Gibson is due in court March 16.
Lucas Y. Tian, 22, of 5709 S. Harper Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence at 3 a.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on the 1300 block of Asbury Avenue. Tian is due in court March 1.
DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
Thomas G. Robinson, 59, of 2110 Dewey Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 7:32 p.m. Saturday at Church Street and Brown Avenue and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He is due in court Feb. 17.
TRESPASSING
Jason M. Trippel, 34, of 2204 Green Bay Road, Evanston, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. Friday on the 2400 block of Prairie Avenue and charged with trespassing. He is due in court March 9.
