Evanston police blotter for Feb. 2, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.
BURGLARY
Someone broke the rear door of a single-family home Tuesday and stole a pearl necklace and a gold necklace with opals jewelry. The burglary occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the 1700 block of Keeney Street.
Sears Craftsman socket wrenches were stolen from a garage with an unlocked window sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. Wednesday on the 1600 block of Fowler Avenue.
A Hewlett Packard laptop computer and a BlackBerry cell phone were stolen from an unlocked 2011 Nissan sometime between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday as it was parked in a residential garage on the 600 block of Mulford Street.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone scrawled graffiti on the building of Second Baptist Church sometime between 4 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday on the 1700 block of Benson Avenue.
Someone dented both front quarter panels of a 1998 Buick as it was parked by the curb sometime between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:15 a.m. Wednesday on the 1000 block of Lee Street.
RETAIL THEFT
Dimitri Juste, 28, of 10384 Michael Todd Terrace, Glenview, was arrested at 9:51 a.m. Tuesday at 1128 Chicago Ave. and charged with retail theft. He is due in court Feb. 23.
