Evanston police blotter for Jan. 23, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.

BURGLARY

A music compact disc and a vehicle owner’s manual were reported stolen from a 2010 Honda parked in a residential driveway sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday on the 1500 block of Cleveland Street.

A large LG plasma television set and a large bag of clothes were stolen from an unlocked 2007 Ford parked curbside sometime between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday on the 1700 block of Greenwood Street.

A man burglarized a single-family home around 12:30 p.m. Jan. 15 by going through an unlocked window on the 1400 block of Dodge Avenue. Nothing was reported as stolen, however, according to the initial police report.

THEFT

A wallet along with its contents, a jacket, clothes, a house key and a backpack along with its contents were reported stolen from a locked locker sometime between 1 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. Sunday at the LA Fitness athletic club on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue.

A black and silver Lenovo laptop computer was stolen sometime between 8 a.m. Jan. 17 and 2 a.m. Friday from a single-family home on the 2000 block of Dewey Avenue.

BATTERY

A victim was hit in the head by a man around 3:50 a.m. Sunday on a sidewalk on the 1800 block of Sherman Avenue.

George D. Demetrius, 28, of 528 Dodge Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 4:20 a.m. Sunday at Main Street and Chicago Avenue and charged with battery. He is due in court March 9.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Ricco D. Houston, 24, of 2115 Emerson St., Evanston, was arrested at 12:14 a.m. Saturday at 709 Dobson St. and charged with aggravated assault. He is due in court March 1.

DUI

William L. Scott, 61, of 2038 Dodge Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 1:04 a.m. Friday at 1300 McDaniel Ave. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He is due in court Feb. 23.

DRUGS

Jason A. White, 35, of 7706 N. Marshfield Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 11:01 p.m. Jan. 19 at that address and charged with possession of marijuana. He is due in court Jan. 27.
