Evanston police blotter for Jan. 18, 2012

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie, unless indicated otherwise.
THEFT
An Apple electronics product with an 8-gigabyte capacity was stolen from the victim’s coat some time between 9 p.m. and midnight Saturday on the 400 block of Sheridan Road.
A Coach wallet, along with its contents, was stolen around 7:47 p.m. Monday from a locked locker at the LA Fitness athletic club on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue. Also stolen were $8 in cash, an Apple 3G iPhone, a pair of Oakley sunglasses and a backpack along with its contents.
A wallet, along with its contents, was stolen from an unlocked locker around 3:33 p.m. Sunday at the McGaw YMCA, 1000 Grove St.
Some clothing and keys were stolen from a locked locker around 4:34 p.m. Tuesday at the LA Fitness athletic club on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue.
A man stole some cash from the victim’s purse some time between 11:35 a.m. Jan. 9 and 6 a.m. Jan. 10 at a single-family home on the 1600 block of McDaniel Avenue.
Some gray downspout gutters were stolen from a residential garage some time between Dec. 24, 2011, and 2 p.m. Saturday on the 1700 block of Leland Avenue.
RETAIL THEFT
Michael S. Dunlap, 35, of 1111 Fowler Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 7:45 a.m. Saturday at 1027 Sherman Ave. and charged with retail theft. He is due in court Jan. 20.
AUTO THEFT
A silver 2012 4-door Hyundai Santa Fe was stolen some time between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday from the parking lot of a business on the 800 block of Davis Street.
DISOBEDIENCE TO POLICE
Brad L. Barrett, 21, of 1731 Leland St., Evanston, and Frank M. Billups, 21, of 217 Dodge Ave., Evanston, were arrested at 9:30 p.m. Sunday at 2320 Greenwood St. and charged with disobedience to police. They are due in court Feb. 17.
Sterling M. Preister-Clark, 21, of 2224 Emerson St., Evanston, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Sunday at 1420 Fowler Ave. and charged with disobedience to police. He is due in court Feb. 17.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Brandon J. Salter, 19, of 1737 Brown Ave., Evanston, was arrested at 8:18 p.m. Friday at that address and charged with disorderly conduct. He is due in court Jan. 25.
BATTERY
A battery incident involving a male was reported around 2:45 p.m. Friday at a restaurant on Emerson Street.
ORDER OF PROTECTION
Cornell H. Hentz, 44, of 7520 N. Rogers Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. Friday at 1600 Dodge Ave. and charged with violating an order of protection. His court hearing was scheduled for that day.
