The weather was ideal with sunny skies and mild temperatures on Saturday, Sept. 8, when almost 400 walkers participated in the APDA Midwest Chapter 2012 Three Mile Walk-A-Thon, at Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, 320 W. Jackson Ave., Naperville on Sept. 8.

Pat and Mike Marino of Willowbrook and Marsha Berlin of Lombard were co-chairmen.

For a donation of $25 or more, participants received a Walk T-Shirt; otherwise there was no cost to enter.

$30,000 was raised through donations made by supporters of the cause and sponsorship for persons who are walking the three mile course, raffle tickets (gifts were donated) and more. All proceeds go directly to the University of Chicago for research toward a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
