Nominations are sought for the Mayor of Evanston’s Award for the Arts and the Evanston Arts Council’s Leadership Award. The Mayor’s Award for the Arts is presented to one individual and one arts organization in recognition of their contributions to the Evanston community. Nominations also are being sought for the Evanston Arts Council’s Arts & Business Committee Leadership Award, honoring a business that has supported the arts, or an individual representing a business who provided support with the direct backing and involvement of the business. Emilio del Rosario Piano Concerto Competition
The Music Institute of Chicago seeks entrants for the Young Artist Division of the Emilio del Rosario Piano Concerto Competition. Pre-college pianists compete for the opportunity to perform a complete concerto with the Lake Forest Symphony. Additional cash and scholarship prizes also will be available. Preliminary round will take place Feb. 10 at the Music Institute’s Winnetka campus, and three finalists will compete Feb. 17 at Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston.
