Spend a night outdoors at a Pirates Family Camp Out, 7 p.m. Saturday, August 2 at Tower Road Beach, 899 Sheridan Road, Winnetka. Bring a tent and food to cook on a grill. You’ll see “Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End,” roast marshmallows and make s’mores, and have a continental breakfast in the morning. Resident families pay $5; nonresident families, $10; free for Family Beach Passholders. Register by Aug. 1.

CAN’T BEAT THOSE DANCING FEET

All ages will enjoy watching the Barefoot Hawaiians dancing to tropical music in their colorful costumes, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 at the Starlight Theatre, Lake Ave. at Lake Michigan, Wilmette. The popular group will present the final concert of the Thursday Night Out! concert series.

A MARVEL-OUS EVENT

Help celebrate the 75th anniversary of Marvel comics at a special storytime, 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 at Barnes and Noble, 55 Old Orchard Center, Skokie. There will be a craft activity and giveaways. Kids are encouraged to dress in costume.
