Young artists are encouraged to participate in Evanston’s GOALed Gallery program. According to the release:
EVANSTON, IL - Local artists, crafters and makers ages 13 to 21 are invited to participate in the City’s second annual GOALed Gallery program to sell their work, network with other artists, and learn about entrepreneurship during the 42nd annual Evanston Lakeshore Arts Festival, one of the longest-running juried art fairs on the North Shore.
Participants in the program will be provided with a tented display area in a 10×10 booth. There is no fee to participate and no commission will be charged for sold items. However, participants will be responsible of setting up and tearing down the booth each day of the festival.
Interested artists must apply no later than Saturday, July 19 by emailing their name, contact information and a photo of their work to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications can also be mailed to GOALed Gallery, City of Evanston Cultural Arts Programs, Room 1116, Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave, Evanston, IL 60201.
The Evanston Lakeshore Arts Festival will be held on August 2-3 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Centennial Park, located on Sheridan Rd. at Clark St. The nationally-recognized juried fine arts and crafts festival showcases work from more than 100 artists. Be sure to make a bid or two at the silent art auction, and bring your children or grandchildren to the popular Children’s Craft Tent. Admission to the festival is free.
