The Evanston Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with a missing person reported early Wednesday morning from his home in Evanston.

Jeffrey P. Moran, 68 was last seen at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, when he said he was leaving his home to go to the Walgreen’s on Dempster Street in Skokie.

“There has been no contact since police have been notified by family,’’ Cmdr. Jay Parrott said, and the missing man is not in possession of a vehicle or cell phone at this time.

Moran is suffering from a medical issue that may affect his cognitive ability and sense of awareness, Parrott said.

The missing person is described as a while male, 5-feet, 11-inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown sweater, brown pants, tennis shoes and possibly carrying a tote bag, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 847-866-5000. Anyone believing they may have located the missing person outside of Evanston is asked to call their local police department for an officer to respond.
