The North Branch of the Evanston Public Library will be closed for most of August. According to the release:

The North Branch of the Evanston Public Library, 2026 Central St., will be closed from August 3 through August 24 for renovations to make the building’s restrooms accessible to all in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Half of the funding for this project was acquired through a state matching grant. Both the library and its book drop will be unavailable for use during this time.

Library books can be returned at the Main Branch, 1703 Orrington Avenue or at the Chicago Avenue/Main Street Branch, 900 Chicago Avenue for the duration of the closing.

Holds not picked up before closing time on August 2nd, will be sent to the Main Library and be available for pickup on Monday, August 4th.  If a hold becomes available while North Branch is closed, the item will also be held at the Main Library. Books placed on reserve will also be held at the Main Library during the North Branch renovation.

For more information, call the North Branch at 847-866-0330. During the closing, questions can be answered by Main Library circulation staff at 847-448-8605.
