Police seek connection in Monday, Tuesday shootings

Evanston police are examining a possible connection between a shooting Tuesday afternoon on the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue with another that occurred Monday night.

The Tuesday incident occurred around 12:55 p.m.

An Evanston resident, 21, was found with a gunshot wound to the leg.

He was transported by paramedics to NorthShore Evanston Hospital where he was to be treated for the injury, which is not considered life-threatening, said Cmdr. Jay Parrott, department spokesperson.

Parrott said police are looking closely at a connection with a shooting Monday night on the 1700 block of Payne Street, in which the victim, a 39-year-old Evanston man, suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, also not considered life-threatening.

No one is in custody at this time.
