The city’s 4th annual always popular recycling fair to be held July 12th at Evanston Township High School will accept more items, Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm announced.
Along with electronic material drop-offs and paper shredding, the fair will accept clothing, shoes, household batteries, compact fluorescent light bulbs, ink cartridges and clothes hangars, Maiworm said.
“Each year we try to add another additional element to encourage people to recycle,” he said.
At the fair, residents will have an opportunity to recycle items, securely shred documents, obtain recycling education materials, learn about construction projects, visit with “green” vendors, and even get a closer look at some of the city streets & sanitation heavy equipment.
The fair is held at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave.
Drop off begins at 8 a.m., and concludes at noon. The fair itself begins at 9 a.m. and runs to noon.Tags: ETHS
