Loyola graduate receives Illinois Wesleyan Men’s Track honors

Members of the Illinois Wesleyan Men’s Track team have received honors. According to the release:
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Junior Jeff Toraason was chosen as the “Most Valuable Performer” while sophomore Carl Anderson and freshmanEric Rydell were tabbed as the “Hardest Worker” and “Top Newcomer”, respectively, for the 2014 Illinois Wesleyan men’s track team.

Toraason (Glenview, Ill. / Loyola Academy) was an all-conference performer with third place finishes in the 110 meter hurdles and decathlon in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin outdoor meet. He was also all-CCIW with his second place finishes in the 60 meter hurdles and heptathlon at the CCIW indoor meet.

Anderson (Wheaton, Ill. / Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) was on the all-conference distance medley team that finished third in the CCIW indoor meet while Rydell (St. Joseph, Ill. / St. Joseph Ogden HS) was a two-event all CCIW honoree as he got fourth in the CCIW outdoor high jump and fifth in the conference indoor high jump. He was also named CCIW indoor track “Men’s Field Athlete of the Week” on Jan. 21.

Titan head coach Chris Schumacher awarded letters to 16 male track and field athletes. The lettermen are:
