Purple Line going down for bridge construction

Updated: March 3, 2013 7:35PM

EVANSTON — Purple Line riders won’t have a clear shot to the Loop starting Monday morning. Service will be down because of work on the Wells Street bridge over the Chicago River.

As a result, the CTA announced weekday service will be interrupted Monday through Friday, and again from April 29 through May 3.

During those days, Purple Line trains will terminate at the Howard Street Station. Customers can transfer to Red Line trains at Howard or should consider alternative transportation.
